How WWE lost it’s charm and how there still a hope left.

As a 90s kid I remember playing with WWE Trump cards (formerly it was known as WWF) and using my The Rock card with Rank 1 and defeating any card with him, the joy we got due to WWE was unmatchable and we use to talk about our favorite wrestlers in school be it John Cena, The rock, The Undertaker or Kane. Things were very good back then and now fast forward to 2026, WWE lost it’s charm and kids these days don’t watch WWE and enjoy their matches like we use to do in our childhood.

The main problem I see in today’s WWE is lack of strong characters and storyline, back then there were unique characters like Stone Cold, John Cena, The Undertaker, Kane, Big Show etc with their own background story, aura and personality which is not there with today’s wrestlers, They don’t fit in any storyline or anything. They come and fight and leave that’s it. There Is not backstage drama and wrestlers who can actually dominate the mic game, I remember watching John cena rapping to their opponents or Rock talking to his opponent and shutting their mouth with his ability to talk and amaze people with his presence of mind.

We all know WWE is scripted and back in 90s we had a hint of this too, come one. It’s not possible for a human being to die and come back to life like Undertaker but we still believed everything they said and do because there way of doing things were very natural, if you call it acting or anything I don’t care, It was awesome and full of thrills.

Despite being an Entertainment company with scripted matches, you cannot deny that the stunts and injury is all real and there are people who actually died while performing in the ring so we are not taking away the applause and praising that they deserve.

Role or Vince Mcmahon and Triple H : Back then WWE was run by Vince, he was the one who started the entire company and created characters that defined an era of world wrestling entertainment. He was very passionate for his work and made some really awesome characters and ran the company which no one can run like that, unfortunately he stepped down from the company’s operations and Tripe H (The Son in law of Vince) became the creative head and screwed everything in my opinion. The matches started to look awful, no good stories, no backstage drama nothing. The company was running like at it’s worst. Final nail to the coffin was retirement matches of legends like John Cena and Goldberg and many more in the line.

Just Imagine how much we have invested in our favorite wrestlers like John Cena, We use to live with the idea of Never Giving Up, and guess what Triple H written for him? John Cena tapped out to a clown named “Gunther” and he shattered our beliefs with John Cena’s retirement. His entire retirement tour was trash. A big disappointment that the entire wwe universe will never forget.

Goldberg was a same story, he lost to this “Gunther” and they ended his career very badly. I am not surprised to know the downfall of WWE but there Is still some home with some legends still working for the company like Rey Msyterio, CM Punk, Randy Orton etc. They can hold the company for couple of years and Triple H has to bring new talent otherwise WWE is done in my opinion.
