iPhone X was indeed a great iphone when it was launched in 2017 along with some other great iphones of that era like iphone 6 and the legendary iphone 6s. But it’s 2025 now and this device is fairly old now with no official updates and support from apple company and you will not find people using these models as a main daily drivers because they are not getting updates and patches from apple and according to a recent news, Apple have put iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone x in vintage iPhone list.
When & Why iPhone X is still a great option in 2025:-
- Great Camera that can be used to make YouTube content or even low budget movies, Cameras don’t age as fast as operating systems so yes it can be used as a camera and 4k recordings and amazing pro level pictures.
- As a secondary device used for storing photos and videos and for using offline apps and editing videos if you have older version of iMovie installed in it.
- For calling only and as a music player or multimedia player.
- For collection of vintage iphone.
When & Why iPhone X is not a good option for you.
- If you are planning to use your phone as a primary device and using all modern apps. (No modern apps and updates are available though)
- If you are looking for a secure iphone then it’s not the right choice as it does not have the latest software and security patches.
- If you are looking for an iPhone with apple intelligence then haha are you kidding me?
- If you are looking for an iPhone with great battery.
iPhone X has a great camera setup, Apple’s Flagship level OLED display (It was the first iPhone to feature it) received updates from 2017 to 2023 and concluded with IOS 17. Regarded as one of the great iPhone model of all time along with iphone 6s which received longest updates from apple.
BUT, in 2025 its outdated and cannot be used as a main device.
You can buy it for movie making or for collecting it for fun or you can use it as a media player, music player or video editor. Most probably you will get a very good deal in refurbished markets or you can get this used for very cheap.
