Jio and Airtel have signed a deal with Elon Musk’s Starlink to provide Satellite Internet in India, As we know Starlink is successfully providing satellite internet to many countries and very soon India will join this list but with a twist. Starlink is in waiting period to get permission from the government and there are many other companies which are waiting for the same like Jio, Airtel, Oneweb etc.

Starlink or any other company of Elon Musk does not have any experience of selling anything in India so they need a local partner to sell this satellite Internet in India and who is better than a local network provider who is also in the race of providing satellite Internet. Both Jio and Airtel will sell this Starlink through their retailer network and stores. This will save rollout time and and people will get the service quickly.
Most probably Starlink will be sold with rebranding of Jio and Airtel so that support and other additional benefits along with after sales services will be provided by these local services providers.
Plans will start from ₹3000/- approx because this price is also valid for Bhutan which shares border with India. The actual plan rate would vary but the speed will be same with basic plan that is 25Mbps to 100Mbps. Speed of Satellite Internet fluctuate a lot as there are many factors affecting it like Clouds, Weather, Climate Conditions etc.
