Windows 10 is soon going to end and Microsoft will pull the plug anytime soon. Most probably by the end of this year, leaving people without support and new features. People with supported hardware can upgrade to newer os like windows 11 and keep using their system without any problems. Windows 11 is also not a new Operating System as well so people are waiting for new Window 12 to arrive in the market with new Ai features and new system requirements.
We are in mid 2024 and there is no announcement for the new operating system as Microsoft is still making it’s Windows 11 a better version for it’s users after facing a global outage. Microsoft is working on making updates and new features perfect and less trouble making so that they don’t see things like this again.
Although there were some rumours about a new codename called Germanium for new Windows 12 but that plan is dropped after a senior team leader left the company and joined Amazon recently.
So you will only see a major windows 11 update in 2024 with updates improvements and security patches and Ai features. For Windows 12 we have to wait till mid 2025 for some official announcements.
Many people were asking for windows 12 system requirements, It would be higher than previously launched os. Minimum 4gb of RAM, TPM, Intel 8th Gen. CPU or higher would be required. In case of Ryzen, Ryzen 2000 or up would be needed.
Windows 12 would be mainly focused on Ai so new hardware with NPU (Neural Processing Unit) would be needed for full functionality.
