We have grown using windows on our computers be it window XP or windows 7, Till now windows has been part of our lives but the essence of windows and that nostalgia is slowly going away and we are losing the charm and design that once looked familiar and good.
Windows Xp has that amazing simplistic and colorful design with blue and red with snappy animations and Windows 7 came up with brand new design element “Glass Windows Aero” theme with transparent elements and design that Apple Company is adapting in 2025 and this thing windows did in 2007-08.
After Windows 7 we got Windows 8 which was a complete failure in terms of performance and design. It was more of a touchscreen device os and not made for all size of devices. Microsoft learnt this and created Windows 10 which was balanced in terms of design and ui but not good as windows 7 or xp.
Future windows are total mess in terms of design and ui and control panel is going away too so users have to rely on settings page for changing anything on their computer.
Windows 11 is a good os but in terms of look and ui it’s very simple and lacks the charm windows once had in windows 7 or xp.
Ai Mess: future windows has this ai copilot things going on along with other features like recall and modern ai elements which will completely change the windows and it will become a very complicated operating system which will not be liked by many users specially people who are using windows from decades because they have this muscle memory and the know which thing is where and now they have to search for it making easiar task a time taking process.
We are waiting for Windows 12 and hoping that Microsoft implement these Ai things wisely without changing the core elements of windows so that old users can also use it.
