Description
For description, make sure you don’t enter anything that is not relevant to your video, many people do this mistake of entering things that are not in the video to fool algorithm but let me tell you that youtube algorithm is very smart and you cannot fool it like this so make sure you don’t use any trick and genuinely enter details about your video in the description box. The best practice is to use relevant words while writing the descriptions so that you can use them in your tags section. This will send strong signals YouTube that your video is based in those words or topics. It should not be very long or short, try to maintain it under 500 words and more than 100 words.

Tags are nothing but keywords that helps YouTube algorithm to understand your video better and recommend to interested people so that they can enjoy it and watch it more. So again, just like description, do not enter anything that is not relevant to your video and keep everything simple and sweet. Add words followed by comma. Try to add popular words related to your video (I will add an example of video title, description and tags below this post to make you understand what you should do)
The best way to do onsite SEO in your videos is to use same keywords in your title, description and tags so that algorithm can become 100% sure what your video is all about. Make it very natural and do not try to spam or write anything that looks tricky or artificial. If you try to write all these things to trick algorithm then its not gonna work so keep that in mind.
